Vitrified Fort 2005
	On Sunday 27th February 30 runners christened the inaugural Vitrified Fort race. After a fast start John Hepburn, Peter Kennedy and Dave Bradley set the pace closely followed by the rest of the field. After a tough ascent John was first to the top followed by Peter, with Dave third. George Cairns and Pele Munro found themselves battling for 4th and 5th place, swapping positions twice on the way up. On a fast descent Peter and John were locked together until the final 100 yards when Peter edged John to take first and win by 1 second. In the ladies race well done to Kate Jenkins who won comfortably. There were good runs by Dawn and Amanda. Good to see a new face Elma Murdoch and well done to Christine Dougan who showed great determination with a gutsy performance on a tough course. Thanks to the Shaw family, Foss and Johnny for marshalling and top marshall Ellen and to Stuart for timekeeping.
